What We Do | Who We Are Stacy Bond :: Executive Director Stacy Bond is a journalist & consulting producer who works closely with public broadcasters to build social media around on-air and online programming. Clients include KQED, KTEH, PBS, AIR and other public media related organizations. She herself has been making sound-rich, engaging radio for close to twenty years, most recently as the Producer of The California Report, an award-winning statewide radio news-magazine heard by 750,000 listeners weekly. At National Public Radio in Washington, she was part of the Talk of the Nation w/ Neal Conan team that produced NPR’s Peabody Award-winning news coverage of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Her work has been heard on Morning Edition, All Things Considered, Day to Day, Justice Talking, and other NPR programs. In 2005, Stacy developed an interest in Web 2.0 tools and practices, specifically in how they might impact public media. She left her full-time job to found AudioLuxe in San Francisco. Since then, she has been immersed in the new media landscape of Silicon Valley, where she has been helping technologists improve their independent content, while also helping public media outlets utilize technology to reach new and younger audiences. Stacy is a frequent speaker on changes in public media. She regularly conducts media workshops, and is the author of two hacks in O’Reilly’s Podcasting: Tips and Tools for Blogging Out Loud. She also teaches Audio Production at the University of San Francisco.
Leyna Lightman has practiced her commitment to quality sound since working for two consecutive seasons at KQED’s award-winning statewide news service “The California Report.” From there, she developed and produced a similar-style magazine program at Smith College, conducting two-ways, mixing packages and hosting the show. She then returned to San Francisco, where she taught technology classes to homeless youth at Larkin Street Center, working with talented young people to produce a regular podcast built around their love of sound and music. Leyna joined AudioLuxe in 2007. She coordinates social media outreach on client projects, and coordinates production on AudioLuxe media properties. Leyna is currently on leave for a tour of Turkey; she returns to AudioLuxe in December of 2008. Morgan Davis became involved in arts promotion at an extremely young age, creating a “grass-roots” campaign based on sidewalk chalk to inform neighbors about upcoming lemonade stand and street theater performances (which she also managed and directed). She supplemented these efforts by publishing a neighborhood newspaper, with a bi-monthly circulation of three households. Morgan has continued to work in arts & entertainment promotion ever since. Recent projects include public relations for the San Francisco Film Society’s 50th anniversary festival, PR and celebrity coordination at SHN, San Francisco’s premiere Broadway connection, and community outreach & media development for the Traveling Jewish Theatre’s 30th anniversary season. Morgan’s full name anagram is ‘SF avid organic dreamer’, which everyone who knows her thinks is pretty fitting.
